Drag a slider and watch how days to expiration and volatility reshape a position — that is the clearest options teaching tool available, and the free tier does it well enough that r/thetagang recommends it to beginners without qualification. The problem is the ladder. Free runs on 15-minute delayed data. Live Tools at $39.99 gives you live pricing in the builder but no live flow. Live Flow, at $99.99, is where the unusual-activity scanner most people came for actually lives. These are not good, better, best. They are three different products, and the one being advertised costs $99.99 a month.
We are not publishing OptionStrat's annual prices. The page carries a Monthly/Annual toggle advertising 'Save 12%', but the annual figures render client-side and do not exist in the page source. An automated extraction returned $479.88 and $1,198.88, which are simply monthly times twelve with no discount applied — almost certainly wrong, and likely the source of the annual numbers you will find quoted elsewhere. Open the toggle yourself. Separately, live data is unavailable at any price to registered advisors and SEC or FINRA registered persons, due to licensing. Both paid tiers start a 7-day trial that converts automatically.

Be honest about which job you are hiring it for. If you are learning how spreads behave, the free tier does that job completely and the delay is irrelevant — nothing you are doing is time-sensitive. If you are reading flow for entries, the delay makes free worthless and Live Tools does not fix it either, because flow is not in that tier. The $39.99 plan is the one most likely to disappoint, because it sits between the two real use cases. Pick free or pick $99.99.
